Steve Chandler – Our upholsterer
In 1979, Steve started his career as a junior Upholsterer for award-winning upholstery firm, Clements International Furniture in Ramsgate. Here he built up his knowledge of upholstery techniques which he continued to expand when he moved to work for Guildhall Furniture and Harris Fine Furniture, both based in Sudbury, Suffolk. Enjoying working in East Anglia, Steve and a colleague decided to open a new upholstery company also based in Suffolk in the 1990s. At this point, Steve had gained a vast expertise in the upholstery and soft furnishings industry and in 2000 opened his own upholstery company based in Campsea Ashe, called Ashe Upholstery.
Over Steve’s career he has undertaken upholstery projects for John Lewis, The Dorchester in London, Sieben in Cologne, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Chapmans in the North East of England and Swallow Hotels, to name a few.
